Who, me? Oh, I'm just your average "sound guy". I eat, sleep and breathe sound (it tastes like chicken, if you were wondering). I love studio monitors, Pro Tools, write-based automation, paragraphic equalizers and psychoacoustically-optimized dither. I get downright giddy about the power of 24-bit source formats and 64-bit floating point processing. I simply can't get enough of the smell of fresh-from-the-box magnetic tape and the artful precision of Studer tape machines. I speak Wordclock. I feel PCM.
As I see it, the technical and creative approach to manipulating audio is greater than any other art form. The challenge of honing and refining an event that is constantly moving and cannot be held still is pure madness, but I attempt to tackle it anyway. I'm an audio objectist: it's only real to me if it is real, and I apply that principle to everything I do. I'm a no-nonsense kind of guy.
